‘Kryptonite’ Acoustic Video
Magne performed an acoustic version of ‘Kryptonite’ as part of an interview/television segment he did with Lydverket. This was a promotion for his appearance at Hovefestivalen on June 25, 2008.
Transmutation
In addition to his concert at Hove Festivalen, Magne also had an audio installation around the festival grounds. Visitors were given headphones to listen at eight different audio stations.
Hove Festival
Magne performed a concert at the Tent stage at Hovefestivalen, which to date was his last solo concert. He also participated in the festival in the form of an audio installation called ‘Transmutation’.
Royal Albert Hall
In January 2008, there was an announcement on a-ha.com of a triple solo concert – Morten, Magne and Savoy – at Royal Albert Hall in London. There was also a hint that some new a-ha material might be previewed at the concert.
Notting Hill Arts Club 2008
Magne returned to Notting Hill Arts Club for a one-off gig the night before the ‘triple solo’ concert at Royal Albert Hall on May 24.
Rockefeller Music Hall
After the triple solo concert at Royal Albert Hall in London was announced, a series of ‘warm up’ concerts were announced for the preceding days in Oslo.
Palace Grill
Prior to the triple solo concerts in Oslo and London in May 2008, Magne had three quietly announced ‘warm up’ concerts at the tiny but cozy Palace Grill in Oslo. He also did a warm up concert for Hove Festival here in June.
Thor Heyerdahl – På jakt etter paradiset
Magne and Nils Petter Molvær collaborated to write original music to accompany a four-part NRK documentary about Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl. The documentary was released on DVD in 2009.
Anti-Climax
‘ANTICLIMAX’ features prints of aluminium and black pigment on paper as well as an installation of unique temporary sculptures in snow and ice covered in aluminium. As the snow and ice melt, the changing pieces mirror the effects of global warming. (Hydro)
