Magne performed a concert at the Tent stage at Hovefestivalen, which to date was his last solo concert. He also participated in the festival in the form of an audio installation called ‘Transmutation’.
In January 2008, there was an announcement on a-ha.com of a triple solo concert – Morten, Magne and Savoy – at Royal Albert Hall in London. There was also a hint that some new a-ha material might be previewed at the concert.
Prior to the triple solo concerts in Oslo and London in May 2008, Magne had three quietly announced ‘warm up’ concerts at the tiny but cozy Palace Grill in Oslo. He also did a warm up concert for Hove Festival here in June.
In addition to works from ‘Monologues’, Magne’s exhibition at Porsgrunn included 200 hand-painted tiles with words and letters, which were rearranged in a new configuration for display in the gallery. Visitors could buy a tile straight from the wall.
‘ANTICLIMAX’ features prints of aluminium and black pigment on paper as well as an installation of unique temporary sculptures in snow and ice covered in aluminium. As the snow and ice melt, the changing pieces mirror the effects of global warming. (Hydro)
