Magne was asked to perform his new single ‘Dragonfly’ at the annual HitAwards ceremony in Oslo, after Savoy – who were originally scheduled to perform – could not get out of New York in the aftermath of the September 11 tragedy.

Norway’s Minister for Culture, Ellen Horn, has been asked to contribute to the show. She will deliver a speech in order to commemorate the catastrophe. Magne was asked especially if he wanted to perform his new song ‘Dragonfly’ right after her speech, as ‘Dragonfly’ is a song expressing solace.

“‘Dragonfly’ is not a song that would normally be suitable for an entertainment show; it has a totally different impact. It is a fragile song about hope, love and solace. I think the song expresses our vulnerability in this world, and I think that’s why I was asked to contribute. HitAwards has a quite different concept now than what was originally planned,” Magne says.

Magne performed alone on stage, only accompanied by his acoustic guitar. Pictures from the event can be found here.
